Your opportunity

One Planet is seeking an experienced and energetic Director of Human Resource to lead the Human Resources department for our entity Buyerlink (a One Planet Group company).

Success as Director of Human Resources will require partnership with the Chief Financial Officer to execute Human Resources strategies that foster organizational and people effectiveness. You must understand business priorities and translate them into creating an Human Resources agenda that serves the business as it grows.  This role is not remote and will report to our headquarters in Walnut Creek, California.

  • An understanding of business goals in order to design and implement new approaches, improve existing policies and procedures, and support continual growth and development of Human Resource of the company across all office locations
  • A desire and ability to be a force of positive influence to the team, including establishing the tone and direction of the HR department and providing the necessary mentorship and leadership to ensure the team achieves desired goals
  • A sense of comfort working autonomously in an environment which demands strong deliverables and the ability to identify problems and provide and implement effective solutions
  • The ability to discreetly manage the mood of employees, ensure a high level of employee engagement, and address employee concerns appropriately.
  • Experience with a rapid and complex changing work environment across the globe
  • Ability to manage and complete items including, but not limited to, the following:
  • 401(k) administration and compliance
  • Leave of Absence programs (FMLA, PLA, and state leave laws)
  • Performance reviews and company surveys
  • Administration of health benefits
  • Employee communication and recognition programs
  • Process payroll and benefits with an emphasis on compliance, customer service, efficiency improvement, and cost containment
  • Overseas recruiting, applicant tracking, new hire onboarding, and employee exits
  • Other related areas


  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resource
  • 5+ plus years hands-on experience in a number of Human Resource areas to various business scenarios including: employee relations, Human Resource policy, legal and compliance
  • Experience with Millennium payroll software and reporting system
  • Strong leadership skills; ability to work independently and multi-task in order to meet deadlines
  • Highly detail oriented, meticulous and creative
  • Committed to excellence and impeccable ethical standards and integrity.
  • A record of progressive advancement; proven ability to manage multiple deliverables and prioritize teams and resources to accomplish these priorities.


  • PHR or SPHR certification
